José Mendez

Meet a longtime team member
José Mendez is one of three employees who have worked at The Forum since our beginnings. He began his tenure as a dishwasher, then a busboy, and now a server who has the responsibility for breakfast each morning Monday through Friday. This requires a 4 a.m. reveille in order to arrive at The Forum by five. When breakfast was first initiated, the meal was very simple, but we have gradually added many more choices. José has observed many changes in the dining room since 199, and seen many committees (such as food) formed in order to assist management in decision-making. In recalling his years here, José’s comment struck a very tender chord: “I don’t go to work, I go to see my other family each day.
