Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between The Forum and other retirement communities?

There are two important differences that provide peace of mind and security for you and your children — equity ownership and continuing care.

Investment Return Plus Equity Plan. The Forum offers an equity ownership plan that allows you to purchase a membership interest in The Forum and sell it at any time by you or your estate. Instead of paying one lump sum with little or no return, this plan provides estate protection and security. Depending on real estate market conditions and/or any other extenuating circumstances, your investment will be returned—plus a share in the appreciated value of equity.

Continuing Care. At The Forum residents live independently in apartment homes and villas, but have access to both a Wellness Center, located in the community building, and Home Care if they need some assistance in their home. When and if they need it, assisted living and nursing care is provided on The Forum’s campus at the Health Center. For many residents, continuing care is an important consideration since it provides peace of mind so children don’t have to worry about taking care of their parents while they are recuperating from an illness or injury or during a prolonged illness where they need long-term care.
